A DELI in Kidderminster invites people with mental health issues like stress, worry and anxiety to come and chat.
Life Style Deli in Bromsgrove Street is hosting a ‘Now We’re Talking’ morning at 10:00 am on April 16 to promote Worcestershire Health Minds, a local NHS service set up to support people with common mental health issues .
Tom Bain, owner of Lifestyle Deli, said: ‘We are really keen to support our customers and the community at large by promoting the importance of talking about mental health and the local NHS support available – it is really important to start those conversations. ”
Now We’re Talking was launched in October 2018 by the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, the county’s leading mental health service provider.
The campaign encourages more people to access a self-referral service run by the trust for local people aged 16 and over facing conditions such as stress, anxiety, bad mood or the Depression.
Dawn Stallard, Worcestershire Healthy Minds, said: “Starting a conversation about mental health can seem intimidating, but Now We’re Talking has partnered with Lifestyle Deli to provide the perfect setting to talk and get information for you – same or for someone you know.
“We all encounter common mental health issues from time to time and it is okay to reach out and ask for help and support.
“It’s really important that as a community we come together, encourage and support each other to speak up and have access to support when we need it. ”
Since the launch of the campaign, there has been an increase in the number of people accessing the Healthy Minds service, with over 750 self-referrals in March by phone or online.
