Alyssa Milano says her uncle is on life support after car crash – The Hollywood Reporter

Alyssa Milano said her 63-year-old uncle, Mitch Carp, was “still conscious and unconscious” in a video posted on her TikTok account on Monday. Milano and her uncle were in a car accident last week when he suffered a heart attack.

The actress explained that her uncle drove her to a doctor’s appointment because she has ringing in her ears as a lasting condition of having COVID-19. Carp lost consciousness while driving which led to “some of the most horrible times.” She shared, “Uncle Mitch is always in and out of consciousness. He is on life support. My brother went there yesterday and played “oldies” on him and his whole body started to move, so he really loved it.

She added, “UCLA Medical Center nurses and doctors care for Uncle Mitch so much, but he’s got a long way to go. He raised a fever last night of ‘103, so we suspect there’s an infection he’s been beating throughout all of this as well. But he’s a fighter, Uncle Mitch is a fighter, and medics say every day is a miracle he still clings to. She thanked the fans for their prayers and support.

Milan first confirmed the accident last week on Twitter. Documents provided to Hollywood journalist said that on the morning of August 17, an SUV collided with a passing vehicle and eventually fled. “A Good Samaritan” helped stop Carp and Milano’s car before the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department arrived to perform CPR and take Carp to the hospital.

Milano was not injured in the accident.

In her TikTok update, Milano said, “Please be one of those Good Samaritans if you see people suffering or struggling. Please stop to help them.

She ended the video by encouraging her subscribers to, “Please, please, please take CPR training. You might be called upon to save a life at some point, and knowing how to do that is really, really valuable.
