The ‘Fedora Guy’ – jerry mess – is on life support and is fighting for his life in a Florida hospital after contracting an aggressive case of COVID-19.
You should remember Messing from ‘Freaks and Geeks’ or the famous meme that includes him rocking the famous fedora. Sadly, Jerry’s family say the star was hospitalized in Florida several days ago after being out of breath. His father, James, broke his silence on the situation by saying that a few days ago he started to feel really sick and suddenly he had extreme shortness of breath.
Jerry, who lives with his parents near Tampa, really started having trouble breathing the next day. So they decided to check his oxygen level. After realizing they were dangerously low, the family determined he needed to be rushed to hospital and was taken by ambulance on Monday evening.

After arriving, Jerry tested positive for COVID-19 and was immediately placed on a fan. As you know, once hospitalized with the virus, no one is allowed to visit you in the hospital – so he is currently alone fighting for his life.
The actor is best known for his role as Gordon Crisp in “Freaks and Geeks”, but also played the role of Artie Ryan in “Even Stevens”. Jerry was also famous for playing Pugsley in “Addams Family Reunion”. But, recently, the actor has gained immense fame as “The Fedora Guy” – which is one of the most popular social media memes. The worst part was that Jerry was about to be fully vaccinated against the virus and had already received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Jerry’s parents are both fully vaccinated with Pfizer pictures. Interestingly, both of his parents started to feel sick around the same time, but his father tested negative for the virus and his mother’s test is still pending. At this point, none of them have been bad enough to be hospitalized.
Weight Loss Surgery Approval Against The “Freaks And Geeks” Stars?
According to Jerry’s Facebook page, he has struggled with a medical clinic for the past year to get some sort of weight loss procedure. On June 22, 2020, he wrote: “Okay, so for those of you who know all the details of what’s going on, and those of you who just wish to be kept in some form or another know … I was officially refused to see a bariatric. specialist, not by my insurance, not by my doctor, but by the medical administrator of the clinic … combine that with everything I have told some of you about, I think I might need to get a lawyer … I don’t know how I will be able to get one on reserve.
It is not clear that Messing was able to follow the procedure, but a few days later he informed fans of his condition saying that “My parents will not have to break as much as they should. Ultimately though, I’m pretty sure that’s what it feels like waiting to die, except I didn’t resign myself to it, I was locked in place.
