Henry Winkler will share his life story in Memoir which will be released in 2024

Henry Winkler will recount his life and career, from “la Fonz” to barryin a dissertation to be published in 2024.

Celadon Books announced on Wednesday that the beloved 76-year-old actor has agreed to a deal to write his memoir, which will cover his long television and film career as an actor, producer and director; in addition to his 100+ screen credits, Winkler also produced the series MacGyver and made movies like cop and a half.

Winkler joked about the tome in a statement, “I’m both excited and nervous about writing a memoir because it’s hard to remember what happened the day before yesterday. But I’m going!”

The as yet untitled memoir is actually Winkler’s second autobiography, but the first in over 45 years: he wrote The Other Side of Henry Winkler: My Story during the peak of Happy Days run in 1976. Since then he has appeared on shows like Parks and recreation, development stopped, and, more recently, barrywinning an Emmy for the latter.

Winkler is also an accomplished author, having co-authored the popular Hank Zipzer series of children’s books in 2011. I’ve Never Met an Idiot on the River: Thoughts on Family, Photography and Fly Fishing.

“Henry Winkler is one of America’s most beloved actors … his fans, young and old, are devoted to the hard core,” Deb Futter, president and publisher of Celadon Books, said in a statement. “He led an extraordinary life that will result in an extraordinary memoir.”
