“My fondest memory is when I gave my mother a gold ring for her birthday, which I bought with my hard-earned money. When I gave this ring, we were both in tears of joy, and I could see how proud she was.” she remembers.
Disha describes herself as an ambitious girl with a positive attitude towards life. Her parents encourage and support her in the pursuit of her passion. Speaking about the battles of her life, she said: “I’m so lucky to have such supportive parents throughout my journey; I’ve always lived in their shadow. But my real fight started when I moved to Mumbai last year; it was a whole new experience for me. Doing everything on my own, managing my own finances, struggling for work and navigating negative comments. There were times when i literally broke down and started to cry, but my life purpose kept me going. It’s not easy to live alone in an unfamiliar city, and this experience taught me a lot in life .”

With Miss India, Disha wants to raise her voice for good and influence people for a better and progressive future. She wants to bring about a change in society and break down stereotypes. Disha thinks, “A woman deserves equal respect and opportunity. As a society, we have to accept the way one wants to lead their life and not report them with negativity.”
