Wisin and Yandel announce a documentary about their life story for 2023

Following the announcement of Mission Ultimatheir latest album and tour as a duo, reggaeton icons Wisin and Yandel are also announcing the production of a documentary chronicling their life story.

The documentary will be produced by WK Entertainment and Andy Martínez, who manage Wisin and Yandel respectively, in partnership with Sony Music Latin. It will be released in 2023, with a distributor to be announced soon.

WK CEO Walter Kolm and WK General Manager Chris Duque will also serve as executive producers with Martínez of Jak Entertainment, which manages Yandel. The documentary will include never-before-seen historical footage of Wisin & Yandel, who are the most successful duo in reggaeton history, culminating in their Ultima Mision tour, which kicks off in September.

The tour will touch nearly 30 cities in the United States and includes a record 14 dates at the Coliseo de Puerto, where no other artist has ever played so many dates.

“I am thrilled to be able to share the story we started 25 years ago, a story that can serve as an inspiration to many young people today,” Wisin said in a statement.

“Our fans have had unforgettable moments with Wisin & Yandel since the very beginning of our careers and having the opportunity to capture our trajectory now in a documentary will give us all the opportunity to relive those moments, to see never-before-seen footage. before and our farewells in duet with the tour “La Última Misión”, added Yandel.

In 2007, a biopic titled Wisin y Yandel: The Film told the duo’s first story using actors to play their roles. But it will be the first time that an in-depth, in-depth documentary will draw on historical and current material. A distributor for the documentary will be announced shortly.

Martinez, who has worked with the duo for a long time and now runs Yandel, added, “God has given me the opportunity to be present at many memorable moments in W&Y’s career, and to be able to work at this point, but in hand with Walter, Chris and our Sony Music Latin family gives me great joy.
