Woman on life support after Akron shooting

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — Police need help identifying suspects after a shooting in Akron left one woman on life support and injured another.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday when the occupants of an older Chevy Impala allegedly fired into a group of people outside 1492 Rockaway Street, hitting a woman in the leg twice, according to a Akron Police Facebook Post.

According to the police, two men from the group then seized their weapons and fired indiscriminate shots. It was then that a woman in another car was hit in the back of the head by one of the stray bullets believed to have been fired by one of the men, the post said.

The woman is on life support and is not expected to survive, officers said.

Suspects are considered armed and dangerous; Do not approach them if you see them, but call 9-1-1 instead.
